Industry brief · Source published September 13, 2026
Bosch Rexroth described hydraulic pump and valve choices for industrial recycling balers in a September 13, 2026 article. It names its own A15 variable pump and several directional valve families. The wider engineering issue is the large difference between the fast approach, compression, hold, and return phases.
Engineering significance
A press or baler can require high flow when the ram moves with little resistance, then high pressure at lower flow during the final compacting phase. Selecting every component from the maximum of both values can oversize the drive. Conversely, ignoring repeated pressure peaks, valve shift behavior, and oil heat can reduce reliability. The complete cycle should be logged before choosing displacement control and motor power.
What buyers should check
- Record ram position, pressure, flow, and time for each phase under representative material loads.
- Check valve switching transients and pressure relief against the cylinder and machine frame.
- Include filtration, oil temperature, and accessible service parts in the acceptance plan.
Application to custom hydraulic projects
These checks apply to custom hydraulic press cylinders and HPUs. The model names and ratings in the Bosch Rexroth note belong to that vendor; they are not specifications for products on this site.
