Product Overview

Custom Servo Hydraulic Cylinders for Test Systems

Servo hydraulic cylinders are used where an actuator must follow a defined position, speed or force command within a controlled system. In a test rig, laboratory machine or industrial automation project, cylinder selection depends on the complete hydraulic power supply, valve, feedback, controller and mechanical structure. Yongjian can review the actuator drawing and system requirements to develop a custom cylinder concept for approval.

Concept rendering for application illustration. Final appearance, dimensions and performance depend on the approved drawing and duty specification.

Define the motion and load profile

Provide the required static and dynamic forces, stroke, velocity, acceleration, frequency, duty cycle and allowable travel limits. State whether the test demands position control, force control or both, and identify the required measurement accuracy at system level. The machine designer should calculate friction, moving mass, structural compliance and potential resonance; a cylinder alone cannot establish closed-loop performance.

Coordinate actuator and control interfaces

Confirm the mounting style, rod end connection, side-load allowance, port sizes and locations, hydraulic fluid and pressure range. Where feedback is needed, specify the preferred transducer type, measuring range, output interface, connector location and protection requirements. Servo or proportional valve selection, filtration and oil temperature control should be reviewed with the system integrator. Seal friction, internal leakage and rod surface condition can affect low-speed motion and repeatability, so the duty should be shared early.

Safety and validation

Define end-stop strategy, mechanical guarding, emergency stop behavior and safe behavior on loss of pressure or electrical power at the system level. Agree on dimensional inspection, pressure and leakage testing, sensor checks and any functional testing that can be performed at the factory. Response and accuracy claims should be verified against an agreed test method on the complete system rather than inferred from the actuator rendering.
